Heuresis is the ancient Greek word for the the process or practice of discovery, invention, or problem-solving.
I have expertise in computational science, molecular design, research strategy, digital transformation for drug discovery, and enabling platforms, technologies, and infrastructure to make it successful. My mission is to work with teams to unleash their potential to deliver medicines to patients by leveraging my 25+ years of experience as a drug hunter.
-Constantine Kreatsoulas, PhD
I founded Heuresis Bio on a conviction built over two decades on the front lines of drug discovery: that the gap between a validated target and a clinical candidate is most often a strategy and leadership problem, not a chemistry problem.
My career spans senior leadership roles — including SVP, Head of Research and SVP, Head of Discovery Technology Sciences. I built and led multidisciplinary high performing teams that invented development candidates and clinical assets. I have also built and evolved platforms, encompassing science, strategy, and both the lab and cloud infrastructure to make them succesful.
A recurring thread across my career has been building partnerships that give early-stage science its reach. I have led three alliance formations with top-10 pharma companies end-to-end: generating the science that made each deal attractive, defining scope, budget, and terms, and then serving as the Joint Steering Committee lead upon execution. Those deals spanned collaborations for discovery platform hit ID, first-in-class target lead optimization, and AI technology platform access — each structurally different, but requiring the same combination of scientific credibility and strategic clarity to get done.
My current engagements include an active scientific advisory relationship with a clinical stage biotech.

My engagements are structured around your program's actual needs — from a focused advisory retainer to embedded fractional leadership. I am based in the Philadelphia area and work with clients across the United States and globally.
01 | Discovery Strategy & Fractional Head of Discovery
Target prioritization, modality selection, and go/no-go frameworks built around your biology, timeline, and risk tolerance. Includes portfolio-level triage for boards and investors. Embedded or advisory scientific leadership for early-stage organizations — team-building, board-level communication, and partner-facing representation through critical inflection points.
02 | Computational & Medicinal Chemistry Leadership
Structure-based design, SAR guidance, and ADMET strategy across the full lead optimization arc — with AI and ML integrated where they accelerate decision-making and drug discovery, not as an end in themselves.
03 | Discovery Infrastructure & Platform Implementation
Designing and building the lab, computational and IT infrastructure that makes a discovery organization run — from lab informatics, research IT architecture, to platform selection and implementation.
04 | Partnership and alliance strategy
From pre-deal science and BD through term negotiation, scope definition, and JSC governance — end-to-end alliance leadership with top-tier pharma, grounded in the scientific credibility to get deals done.
01 | Scientific Leader
STRATEGY · ORGANIZATION · CANDIDATES
I build and lead discovery organizations — setting scientific direction, making go/no-go decisions with conviction, and creating the conditions for teams to nominate candidates. I have held SVP and VP roles at Circle Pharma across research, discovery technology, and computational chemistry and led large computational groups in top-10 pharma companies.
02 | Alliance Builder
FORMATION · GOVERNANCE · EXECUTION
I have driven multiple pharma alliances end-to-end — from the science that makes a deal worth doing to crafting and delivering the pitch, through scope definition to Joint Steering Committee leadership during execution. The deals spanned technology platforms, drug discovery, and advanced AI collaborations.
03 | Computational & AI Expert
TECHNOLOGY · INFRASTRUCTURE · INTELLIGENCE
I build and lead discovery organizations — setting scientific direction, making go/no-go decisions with conviction, and creating the conditions for teams to nominate candidates. I have held SVP and VP roles at Circle Pharma across research, discovery technology, and computational chemistry and led large computational groups in top-10 pharma companies.
